Cell phone

It is commonplace for staff to have cell phones and want to bring these phones to work. While this is permitted, we want you to follow these guidelines relating to the use of your cell phone:

  • Focus your cell phone use on benefiting your work (eg. making business calls, using productivity apps such as task lists, calendars etc.)
  • Ensure that any personal calls are kept brief and preferably take those calls away from other staff so as not to distract workers.
  • Please do not play games or text excessively.
  • Please do not record conversations while at work. This may pick up confidential information that you are not authorized to retain.
  • All restrictions relating to Internet usage apply to the use of phones while in the workplace. 
  • Avoid using your phone excessively while in meetings.
