Social selling

Social selling is ultimately about building relationships. Before you build them, you need to make sure you choose the right network and only then can you can build new relationships, provide value to prospects and nurture leads. The general process is as follows:

  1. Choose the most relevant social networks - determine the platforms potential customers are active on, such as:
    • Twitter
    • LinkedIn
    • Instagram
    • Youtube
    • Facebook
  2. Follow the right users - target key users to follow using social media analytics tools
  3. Create a shortlist of active prospective companies & follow them -  identify 10-20 companies to follow and engage with their status updates to initiate relationship building
  4. Join and participate in social media groups - some social media platforms have community groups which provide you with opportunities for networking, referrals, and leads
  5. Connect with potential customers - send invitation requests to people who view your social media profiles and be sure to personalize the default message to increase the engagement potential
  6. Contribute to existing conversations about your brand - implement a social listening strategy of the company & product and add value to the conversation by responding to suggestions and questions
  7. Provide value by sharing relevant content
