System Inventory Inspection

An inventory of all system assets must be maintained and reviewed regularly to ensure it is up to date.

(^Company^) must implement centralized system component inventories that include components from multiple organizational systems. In such situations, (^Company^) must ensure that the resulting inventories include system-specific information required for proper component accountability (e.g., system association, system owner). Information deemed necessary for effective accountability of system components includes hardware inventory specifications, software license information, software version numbers, component owners, and for networked components or devices, machine names and network addresses. Inventory specifications include manufacturer, device type, model, serial number, and physical location.

The Asset tab in this application must be used to record all assets, including device or machine names, full specifications, software version numbers, license information and ownership.

A full review of that information must be performed on a regular basis. Please use the inspection form below to record details of the inventory review.
