Adding Video

Videos can be added to your articles 3 ways:

  • Upload a video to the text editor using the cloud icon
  • Drag & drop a video from file explorer into the text editor
  • Embed Youtube video link

Upload Video

Adding a video can be accomplished using the 'Upload Attachment' button. This is found in the content toolbar, above the text editor space.

To do so, place the cursor in the desired location in the text editor and then select the cloud icon with the up arrow.

You will then be prompted to find an image on your system (or network) in the file browser to upload.

After selecting a video to open, it should now appear as a box containing the title of the video. Publish the page to make the video viewable to your users.

Drag & Drop Video

Within File Explorer, find your video file. Left click and hold on your video file and then drag over to you content editor.

Wherever your mouse cursor is inside the content editor, that is where the video will be placed.

Once your left mouse button is released, the video will be dropped, uploaded, and will then display as a rounded box with the name of the video file in the text editor.

Publish the page to make the video viewable to your users.

Embed Youtube Video Link

Videos can be embedded into your policies and procedures articles by simply copying and pasting the embed code from various video hosting sources, such as Youtube.

The embed code for a Youtube video can be found by clicking on the 'Share' button below the video.

A 'Share' prompt will present itself. Click on 'Embed' to proceed.

The 'Embed Video' prompt will appear.

The embed code is encapsulated in HTML iframe tags. This will be found underneath 'Embed Video' on the right.

For the sake of simplicity, click on the 'Copy' button in the lower right corner. This will copy the embed code for you.

Paste the link into the text editor of your article using either the CTRL-V keyboard shortcut or the right click context menu.

Once the article is published, the Youtube video should now be embedded and able to be viewed directly from your article.

Note: Using direct video links will not display properly as a playable video in the article. The 'Embed Video' code must be used.
