Installation Instructions

Changes in this release:

  1. Significant improvements to the way the differences between page versions are displayed in the page Changes list and approval review emails. It now shows the differences as they would actually appear, whereas previously it would show a plain text ("mark-down") version of the changes and sometimes HTML code. It also shows the timeline graphically, and the history of actions taken, all on the same screen.
  2. A new 'History' link is visible to Wiki Managers at the bottom of each page, which takes you directly to the changes list of the article.
  3. The Reassign Draft feature now has a "Return To Me After" option that makes the draft automatically reassign back to the assigner when they publish their changes, for review or further editing. Assigned drafters can also assign to other users using the same option.
  4. Search results now show relevant snippets of the text with the searched terms highlighted in the preview of the results.
  5. The search engine now returns results that include close matches to words rather than just exact matches. For example, searching for secure will also return results that contain security. This currently only works effectively for the English language.
    NOTE: To see these effects immediately, you must recreate the search index.
  6. When publishing changes, you can now offer a short explanation of what changed, to help with the review process and to annotate the change history of the article.
  7. Pages now have a "Next Topic" link at the bottom that take you to the next article in the list. This is especially convenient for smartphone users where the navigator is collapsed by default.
  8. Accessibility feature: New "Listen" button added to every article, uses speech synthesis to read out the contents of the article (the quality of this varies from one browser to another, but in general it works best in Microsoft Edge).
  9. The "Download PDF" report now lets you print the articles as-of a specific date, meaning it will retrieve an older version of the article and print that if requested. You can also now print all articles at that level, rather than just the article you selected.
  10. Added new function to move articles in bulk. When in Explore mode, as a Wiki Manager, you can now multi-select articles (individually or through a "select all" option) and a "Move Bulk" button will appear, that allows you to move all selected articles to a different location. Approvals will still apply.
  11. Clicking in the navigator with the CTRL key down will now open the page in a new tab. Likewise, right clicking the navigator now displays the "Open in new tab" option.
  12. Quizzes can now be put into draft and edited by the admin account, rather than just the author of the quiz. The owner of the quiz can also be assigned to other Wiki Managers using the "Change Owner" action. Some permissioning issues with quizzes were fixed in the process.
  13. If an approver, during the review stage, clicks Update, the draft will now be immediately assigned to the approver for further editing and other approvals will be canceled. This is to fix a potential issue where multiple approvers update the article at the same time and open the possibility of them overwriting one another's work.
  14. A new "Clean Up" action has been added (available in the Data View of the Configuration tab) that provides the option of specifying a date, prior to which all changes will be deleted from the system. This is provided to reduce database size if required. It can only be run by an administrator.
  15. When acknowledging a page, you now have to enter in your full name as well as e-sign.
  16. Fixed a problem where approvers visiting an article that is pending their review would only see the link to approve and not see the original article.
  17. Fixed an issue where the floating header navigator would show on printed pages.
  18. Fixed an issue with clipboard pasting certain language / code pages into the Staff.Wiki editor from other applications where the data would lose certain characters in the process.
  19. Fixed an issue with checklist forms that contain field names in certain language / code pages, where the form would not display properly.
  20. Fixed an issue in the navigator where clicking a child article and then clicking a parent article would leave the child article highlighted.
  21. Fixed an issue where completing checklists would cause the page to scroll to the top. It now retains the position in the page when checklist entries are completed, so you can continue to the next one without interruption.
  22. Fixed an issue where rejecting a change (with "send back" set to yes) would send an email with a link only to the change and not the page itself, which could cause some confusion.
  23. Fixed an issue where reassigning a draft would not send an email to the new drafter in some circumstances.
  24. Fixed an issue with Request New Article where the link in the assignment email would sometimes be malformed.
  25. Fixed an issue with moving articles between tabs where sometimes the image would break in the new location upon editing.
  26. Fixed an issue where images would not display in the Download PDF option.
  27. Miscellaneous other user-interface enhancements were included in this release. 
  28. Some important security vulnerabilities were also addressed.
